Gay Pride Parades: Does a non-Christian engage in homosexuality? Who cares? by Michael Ramsay Founder, H-V News Service July 15, 2003 (Revised Apr 22, 2007) It is unacceptable for a professing Christian to have sexual intercourse with a person of the same gender. If one is not a Christian it doesn't matter: heterosexual sex isn't going to keep an Atheist (for example) from hell. As Christians we are asked to discern right from wrong and encourage others who profess to be Christians to avoid what is wrong and follow what is right. There is no point in trying to change the behaviour of a pre- or non-Christian! It does not matter one bit. Hitler, for one, was allegedly a man of impeccable morals (in so far as he did not drink or swear or commit any similar type of 'sins'). For all we know, he was an Atheist and as such will spend eternity (unless he turned to God on his deathbed or before) separated from God. David (of Biblical fame) was an adulterer and a murderer; he, however, repented and (for all we know) is spending eternity in paradise! One's actions don't matter one iota (eternally speaking) unless one is a Christian - then and only then does this expression of holiness matter. Christians should be really only concerned about the sexual exploits of members of the United Church of Canada (formally a Christian denomination) and the Anglican Church of Canada (in the process of a possible schism and re-affirming or denying the Bible as the world of God) or other denominations or individuals who claim to represent God. We have the opportunity to encourage them toward attaining the Biblical standard. We, however, need not waste our time debating the actions of non-Christians in this regard: it doesn't matter one iota. What does matter is that they are going to hell unless they cease to be non-Christians! In short, to paraphrase Stephanie Dash, a former high school student of mine: we should attend gay pride parades not to protest or alienate those involved or to watch and enjoy but to - as non-offensively as possible - hand out scripture verses and let people know how to turn to God and away from their sin. There is only one unforgivable sin and that sin is not homosexual sex.
